U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary questions?

I am 16 years old and am currently a Fire Service Explorer (firefighter youth training program) and am extremely patriotic and want to serve my country any way I can. I've heard about the Coast Guard's auxiliary and have done some research. From what I've heard, you need to be 17 years old and must pass a multiple chioce test. I've found a local flotilla already. Also, what are some jobs/responsibilities can I undertake once I am a member?
