Should I withhold as married if i'm getting married later this year on my W4?

I'm getting married in September. When I file at the end of the year with my spouse will the IRS treat me as if I was married for the entire year. I would like to change my W4 to reflect married to have some more money in my pocket each paycheck if I can. Thanks.
